Happy Easter!

It's that time again when we think about zombies and bunnies...

Okay, I kid. It's Easter. Usually, I am down in my hometown, spending this day from sunrise on the beach to eating Easter dinner with my family and loved ones. This year, I'm spending my day with C and, even though I miss my family, I am finding that it has been a wonderful day.

Why am I not down home? I was stopped by a tiny kidney stone, a stubborn one. I had to have it surgically removed the day before I was to make the trip down. They said that I should be able to get back to normal, but I am finding that it's taking longer than anticipated.

I, therefore, decided to cook a bacon, potato, and cheese strata for breakfast. We, then, puttered around the house, doing a little cleaning. It was a necessary evil, but we got to spend a lot of time together. I made some lasagna which needed time for the ingredients to "get-to-know" each other, so we decided to go on a three mile walk. Now, the lasagna is in the oven and I'm patiently waiting for it to be finished.

I'm a little scared about work tomorrow. I'm still in the training and probationary phase, yet I had to take a week off. I know my health is more important and I work in an area where my mental capacity can affect someone else's health, but I'm afraid that I will get into trouble tomorrow. I have to get reinstated to be able to go back to work by occupational health, so we shall hope and see that they will agree that it's time. I don't think I can do another day of staying inside the house.

My knitting has been a little less productive than usual. To be brutally honest, I am completely tired of this hat project. It's a beautiful fair isle hat, but I think I am such a process knitter that I can't do commission work which this is.

Alright, no pictures this time. Dinner is almost ready and I am starved!
