Health Quest #2




I've decided that I am overdue. I'm overdue with writing in my blog, goal setting, and pampering myself. I've got 5 months until my wedding, a scifi/fantasy extravaganza, so I should get started even if I want to be closer to my overall goal.

So my overall goal is to be someone that  has 28% body fat, can deadlift my bodyweight, and can hike 20 miles in a day. I will be happy if I my body fat percentage drops below this, but I'm trying desperately to be more realistic so I don't give up again.

Now, the overall goal still seems a little bit vague and that's because I have a lot of work to do. It's a little daunting and I feel like I won't be able to do it; however, if I break things down further into manageable chunks, it doesn't seem quite so bad.

So my goals starting today for 6 weeks will be:

  • January 26,2015 Goals

    • At the end of 6 weeks, I will be drinking 6-8 cups of water daily
      • Week one: Drink 1 cup of water daily & Record them!
      • Week two: Drink 2 cups of water daily & Record them!
      • Week three: Drink 3 cups of water Daily & Record Them!
      • Week four: Drink 4 cups of water daily & Record them!
      • Week Five: Drink 5 cups of water daily & record them!
      • Week 6: Drink 6 cups of water daily & record them!
    • Sleep for 8 hours consistently for 6 weeks
      • Record bedtime & Wake up time
    • Only eat out on the weekends
      • Record each day that I don't eat takeout or a restaurant by marking an “X” on a calendar

It doesn't seem like much, but I think that I'll be able to accomplish these so much more than trying to fix EVERYTHING all at once, especially since I'm doing physical therapy for my poor knees.

Hiking has been put on hold for a while. I'm only allowed up to 4 miles on flat, paved trails which really is just a long walk. I'm hoping that things will get better and I'll be able to do more than that sooner than expected.
